Learning to find beauty everywhere, one painting at a time

I started painting in watercolour in 2001 after seeing an episode of Frank Clarke's "Simply Painting". Up to then I believed I didn't have an artistic bone in my body. Today I can't imagine life without art. I've tried most mediums over the years but seem to have found a home in gouache. Well, not literally in it, of course, that would be damp and uncomfortable! As for subjects - I'll try anything, but as a city resident who grew up in the country and still wishes he could return there, I'm finding solace in painting beautiful and interesting spots hidden away in the corners of the city that most people don't even realise exist. I'd really love to meet some other gouache painters!

Adds yes good luck too Anne...

Well Angela - balm on my ruffled feathers indeed - thank you. Oh it is SO tempting to send the e-mail you suggest!!! LOL

I.m with Phil on this one, well done to sell as you have done. The pressure to produce is at least positively generated and i bet you crack on and do even better pieces for the exhibition. The person who sniffed and said " I.ve probably already seen them" doesnt sound like a buyer anyway so what the hell. I suggest you email and explain they won't because of all the sales you have made. Good luck with the exhibition Anne

Ooooooooh Phil - are you supposed to charge for your paintings? ;-)

Stick the prices up...that should slow the sales while you build up the stock...?

Thanks Patsy

Many sympathies indeed...but congratulations on selling four paintings in one go in this fanancial climate...hope you get everything ready and sell heaps more
