Far away in the sunshine are my highest aspirations. I may not reach them, but I can look up and see the beauty, believe in them and try to follow where they lead.

Penni, thank you! You sound so enthusiastic that I can't help but want what you have had! Thanks for posting and yes, the internet is amazing for getting work allll over the world :o)

Hi Alison. You must take the opportunity to go back to college next year - you'll love it! After a few years taking part in adult ed classes, I was encouraged by a really inspirational tutor to enrol on a foundation course at my local art school. It took me nearly 2 years to take the plunge, with work commitments, traveling etc. to consider, but I had an interview and got a place. I spent 18 months doing my foundation part-time, and this gave me the confidence to apply for a place on a Fine Art degree course. I'm now in my 3rd year (part-time) and loving every minute of it. I've learnt so much - it's given me the opportunity to try new/different methods of working, and it's made me more confident in my practice. Being with other like-minded artists gives me inspiration and motivation. When I first went back to studying in 2004 I never imagined I'd be studying for a degree, but here I am! The composition of your work is well thought out, and your technique is great, and enrolling on a course I'm sure will give you the confidence boost you need. Good luck with it all, Penni PS. You've posted your work on this website - your work is on show internationally - what a great way to start! :0)
