Hurrah!!!!

Yesterday was the last day of my exhibition in the Old Town Hall. Because the weather-forecast was very optimistic for the coast, we had a lot of day trippers : on Saturday, I had 85 visitors, on Sunday 90 people came in and had a look around!!! During the 16 days I had 886 visitors (and my second name is not Hyacinth Bouquet!!). I almost can't believe it myself, but I was there all the time and made notes in my diary! I sold ... paintings (even on the last day) and lots, lots of cards! The lady, responsable for the Hall said I had chosen the perfect moment to have my exhibition: I had 3 weekends with beautiful weather and in October, people having a holiday in Blankenberge are a bit older (no offense: I am not that young anymore myself!), so they are more interested in culture than sunbathing!! This morning, my husband and I cleaned up the Hall, returned the key and after lunch, we left to deliver a painting to a couple 70km from here. They came by bus to visit Blankenberge during the week and couldn't take it home with them. They served us a delicious appletart and coffee and we had a lovely chat. The couple that bought a painting on Sunday lives in Brussels. They came by train for the day and asked if they could take it home a few hours later. Because it was my last day anyway (and I had some spare ones to put on the empty place), I wrapped the painting in plastic, newspaper, etc.... and they came to fetch it just before leaving. So, for the coming days I am a bit k.o., mentally and physically, but very, very happy! My "handy Harry" was such a support, I can't thank him enough for that. And all this after 43 years of marriage!! I am sure I am a very lucky "girl"!!
