An imagined personal response is one where the image is derived from recollected experience of place and time. Lately I've have been connecting my wild swimming with my landscape painting. One such was Loch Ossian on the Corrour Estate. I viewed the sparkling water from between the trees and the call to enter was strong. I swam and the sensation and visuals of that moment became embedded.
