Thanks for your comments everyone. So far have stuck mostly to the timetable, missing out the odd 'session'... but 10 hours of study last week in the evenings and at the weekend, so not too disappointed in myself. It just meant that the practical stuff had to go out the window...maybe next week. Last 'semester' Patsy was good - my mark was satisfactory, though I don't like to sit on my laurels - am aiming high! Am trying not to think about the 8-10,000 words final word count for the dissertation, just take each step at a time. My problem is I find so much in books that is interesting and I want to read it all, but have to put a stop to digression....

I had to write a dissertation containing 5000 words and spent many hours researching, visiting libraries etc., we didn't have broadband in those days. This is when I bought my first PC. and the tome amounted to approximately 20,000 words. Most of my studying and writing was done after everyone had retired for the night and I often worked, in peace, until 2.30am. then had to arise at 7am. to do the day job. BEST OF LUCK.

great to make a timetable, it did give me a flashback to my student days when if you are a Red Dwarf fan you might have come across the incident where Rimmer makes himself the most marvellous revision timetable. all in colour and highlights etc the problem was it took him so long to make the timetable it was out of date before he finished it and had to start another one. ie he never got any work done only timetables. I have to say i have been a bit guilty of this myself. thought it might raise a smile for you. Good luck with your new term.

Good to hear from you. It sounds as if you have finally discovered Time-Management. Well done you. Now stick to it.

Well Hello and welcome back and happy new house...a timetable!!! tried them not diciplined enough...how did you go last "semester"...we use the same US word over here in Australia too although we work in terms...but get end of "semester" results...all over for me now so good luck with your dissertation a biggy then...the word alone sends shivers through me
