Beyond the Sea Wall

Glancing over the sea wall while volunteering on the Ffestiniog railway this week, I immediately knew I had discovered the ideal subject in this lovely view of Porthmadog Harbour. Paints, paper and brushes scattered and all my senses tingled with anticipation at the crack of dawn the following morning, as I raced to capture the essence of the rapidly changing scene before me. With the enticing sounds and scents of a busy steam railway at my back, rich autumn sunshine glinting on the ebb tide, huge clouds towering above and the breeze in my hair, what more could I wish for! All change this year (2012) , as a new platform is being built on just this spot to accommodate Welsh Highland Railway trains at Porthmadog station for the first time! It will be interesting to follow developments as a short section of the Cob is widened and new painting vistas open up?

It's there after all! you'll find "Over the Sea Wall" in my "Retrospective " Gallery ! Do please bear with me while I try to sort this out - it seems to have happened with the redesign of the Painters Online website.

Looking up 'my' entry on Painters Online at long last once again after 'a bit of a gap', I notice that the image for "Beyond the Sea Wall" is no longer displayed in my Gallery. I'll try to rectify this. Meanwhile do look at my website at www.hebrideanpostcards.com !
