I'm getting closer to my retirement day (28/05/10) and hope to start improving my painting as soon as the immediate chores are out of the way (you know, home improvements / decorating stuff first!) I get an opportunity to improve at Plymouth Arts Club - it's been going since 1865 and has around 60 members at present and I'm glad to say that it's one of those clubs that does not place restrictions on anyone joining or judge their work etc. I like to tackle all sorts of style/medium but I do spend a lot of time using acrylic as it suits working quickly and not getting wet paint in the car when travelling home from the club. I hope to seriously tackle watercolour in my first year of retirement and would like to paint in the loose style of Trevor Chamberlain whom I much admire (here's hoping!)
