We are still here in the rental property, as the reconstruction of our flooded house still is in progress. The sheer amount of people that were flood effected in Queensland, Australia has seen great numbers of claims to be processed by all the insurance companies and that has led to delays in the commencement of reconstruction for many of the houses in our area. As I drive through nearby streets I see many builders’ signs that have appeared only in the last four weeks. There are trades people’s vans and trucks all about, and I know that we are slowly, very slowly making some progress. Lots of people now think that just because we are not in the news, that everything is back to normal! I am sure that it will be still some months before we can return to our house, and I wrote similar words in my last blog post...and that was months ago. Still my wife and I look forward to being back in our house as soon as we can. Then I can really get back to painting. I have been on the lookout for subject materiel whenever I am out driving the car. I am slowly building up a photo reference file, so I will have lots to paint soon...OH Boy do I miss putting brush to canvas.
