A good read for 2018 "Keeping an Eye Open" by Julian Barnes
What this book is about -
This book covers 17 essays on art, some of the artists Barnes covered are Cezanne, Degas, Manet to name a few. The style is rather commentary and easy to read, as if having Barnes explaining, exploring, giving an opinion and even making you form doubts which is refreshing instead of just looking at ‘great art’ in silence. This is an interesting read to me as I know so little about art, more so the great masters. Each artist featured is fully illustrated in colour so I can image and relate to the piece of art. Barnes is a great writer and has a serious tone, so this book makes it to my night stand before I sleep, since I am not a fast reader anyway.
Do you read books on Art? Recommend a good read and why.
