Biography

Painting has been a hobby of mine for many years although it always took a back seat whilst I was working. When I retired in 2012, my daughters persuaded me to enrol in art classes and I resumed painting in watercolour, gouache and pastel in 2014. More recently acrylic, ink, chalk and charcoal. Since then I have dabbled in landscapes, seascapes, cityscapes and portraits. I would describe my style as impressionist and loose. I will leave realism for the camera. I have joined a lively local art club with plenty of gallery visits and am also a member of the Tate. So plenty of inspiration for me. If only to see how it should be done! I am loving Painters online, in particular the interaction with fellow artists. I continue to learn so much on my journey and I welcome all the support and constructive comments that I receive. I am trying to keep my New Year’s resolution to regularly view and comment on the myriad of amazing artwork posted on this gallery. What a wealth of talent there is.
