Another lovely, atmospheric piece. The detail in foreground is superbly rendered.

I'd kill for a view like that to paint! We don't do badly on the Isle of Wight, but how many coastal scenes have windmills? Great painting.

Hi Seok and Robert - many thanks for your kind comments - the windmill was used to pump saltwater up to salt pans many, many years ago.

Looking towards St Monans in the picturesque East Neuk on the east coast of Scotland. The windmill was used to pump seawater up to salt pans where the water evaporated and the salt was harvested.
