Thank you Robert and Val. I am always on the lookout for touching photographs of people who have either suffered in life or are actively trying to help others. My husband is an activist and is involved with trying to help Roma children in Kosovo all lead poisoned and living on a toxic waste site (put there 10 years ago for 45 days). These children have lead levels higher than can be measured. Susie

Portrait of an elderly Kosovan man taken from a photo in 2007 whilst in Kosovo. He was one of my first pictures and many people have commented on him. Today I received notification from The Winchester Art Club that I have been awarded the Mary Hardcastle Trophy for 2009 for Best Beginner for this painting which was very exciting news for me.
