Cosmeston without the grass!

Sheridan, I recognised this as yours as soon as I saw it. Of the two, I prefer this one without the foreground grass because I think there's plenty here to stimulate the eye - the woodland, the water and the reflections, with the variations of tone and those big brushstrokes are wonderful.

Without grass: it brings you into the painting. You have been busy! I remember your first post with this "new" way of working. I had a look at Roos Schuring - I liked her video and the fact that she was flexible and kept changing details as better arose, eg the trotting horse.

Definitely without the grass Sheridan. Super reflections, do you mix your own greens?

I like it without the grass, but what do you think about leaving that bit of green bush/lilypad at the bottom?
