Nice to see you back Sheridan. These two I really like; the palette is lovely and I don't know whether it is because you are working from a photgraph, there is a slightly softer feel to them ie you weren't in the same hurry to get the paint on!

Thank you Gudrun - It's certainly warmer and dryer working from photographs at the moment so if the outcome is good then that's even more of a bonus!

Like Gudrun says, these are both really lovely images. Confident and painterly. I suspect that the practice working plein air has infuenced your studio work. Sometimes, let's face it, it's just not possible or practical. But if there's a desire to be out there... an intrinsic sense of the place... I dunno. It might just help.

Thank you Amanda. I think you are right. Working en plein air has definitely influenced my painting technique which I hope is now going to show in my studio work - fingers crossed. I think that my most recent tree painting is showing a bit more energy than previous work. That said - I am looking forward to painting outside again - I'm afraid I'm a bit of a fair weather painter!

Sheridan I do look forward to the pleasure of your paintings. Your latest works don't disappoint.

I really like the shapes in this painting, the brush strokes makes it come to life even more than if it would have been painted more detailed!

love it, Sheridan, the foreground water has a very convincing shimmer

This is a small studio painting (not en plein air) the size is 30cm x 40cm. I have tried to work in the same style that I use for my plein air work but this piece is from a photograph.
