The Dargah of Hazrat Nizamuddin Aulia,New Delhi
The dargah (shrine) of Nizamuddin,a revered Sufi saint, is located in Delhi in an area that bears his name. During his long life (1238-1325),he saw 13 rulers ascend the throne of Delhi. Mughal emperors travelling between Delhi and Agra regularly came to pay homage and to make offerings at the dargah. Unlike other monuments, which are visited mainly by tourists, the dargah is thronged throughout the year with visitors and pilgrims of many faiths. They come from all over India to pray,to seek solace,to make a wish or to express gratitude.
