Thank you very much, Ann, for your positive feedback. I appreciate!

I agree with Ann, beautiful painting Mia, nice composition and colours

You can see for miles. I like your distant misty trees.

You really convey the atmosphere here, Mia! I really like the way the colors of the field change and the grass in th e foreground. It's a lovely piece.

Very effective painting of distance and space, and I like the way you encourage the eye to move around this painting. Super reflections in the river.

A delightful picture, Mia. The lightness of touch and the effect of distance achieved are beautiful.

Thank you all so very much. I am so pleased with your positive comments!

Lovely tranquil scene. Really good treatment of all the greens in the painting (how I wish I could do that!!). Nice loose feel to the work as well. P.S. I am trying to catch up with all the postings after being on holiday for a week with no internet access - awful!)

I know the feeling, Thea: we were on holiday for 2 weeks in April and it seemed like a full time job to catch up when we came home. I probably missed some. Thank you so very much for taking the time to post a comment on my work. I appreciate!!!

What size are your paintings Mia ? It is really interesting to here you have your first solo exhibition in october and I am sure you will do well as paintings are so beautiful. It definately gives you a lift when you sell and know that people appreciate the time it takes to create your work. Keep me posted !

Hi Denise, most of my "real watercolours" are about 30 x 40cm, for the pencil drawings and most of the pen and washes, depending on the subjects : 24 x 32cm, or also 30 x 40 cm. The paintings with calligraphy on are 50 x 40 cm because I have to see that Harrie has enough space to put his text on. By the way, it is not my first solo exhibition, it is my 6th, so I am looking forward to it, because it seems that people prefer to go to Ikea or... and just buy a print, so they can change it every year!!! Nevertheless in October we have a lot of retired people here and some of them come in every time to have a look. The location is really in the centre of town and because of the doors are open they can see from outside who is exhibiting. I am always making some postcards of my works and the selling of those pays me the rent!!!!

On our Tuesday day off, we often go for a tour in the car just across the border into Holland (a few km from where we live). If the weather is ok, we take a picnic. It is a beautiful flat landscape and the roads are mostly on top of the dikes. You can see for miles around!!!
