I haven't seen it without the pen work but this piece which includes it is really delightful. It may not appeal to everyone but for me, and in my present mood, this is lovely escapism on paper. Love it!

I agree with Lionel, this is beautiful Mia, excellent composition and colours. very well painted

Really pretty Mia. Like a great illustration for a gardening book.

Interesting without being too fussy, very appealing Mia, I like it a lot.

Lovely strong light effect, this will be a super addition to the work for your exhibition!

I agree with Lionel and Petra...your work is always a delight to look at. Thanks for the comments about my sunset...I feel another one coming on!

Mia. I agree with all the comments above it's a bright, light painting and any gardener would love it. All the best for your forthcoming exhibition I hope it goes well.

Lovely sharp image - so I think the pen work has worked a treat. Great vibrant colours so reminiscent of an English country garden. Also nice light and shadows. Great work, Mia.

Nice and loose and very fresh ,-- Wonderful painting. --- Mia thanks for all your comments--- Good luck for the coming exhibiton --- Chas

Lots of lovely colour and detail here. Hope it all goes well for you!

Wow, so many lovely comments. Thank you all so very, very much, also for the best wishes about my exhibition. Today I posted a new blog about it "Thanks". For the moment it is still on the front page, otherwise look for "Mia". :)

I think this is a delightful painting, and yes, the pen work does sharpen it up. Best of luck with your exhibition...let us know how it goes?

Mia, thankyou for your comment on the plum I did in inks. I didn't see this one without the pen work, but like you I'm becoming a real big fan of pen & wash, it's so immediate. I love it for the same reason you have demonstrated here......the sharpness, and the way it just ties everything up and give a continuity to a painting. It's lovely Mia.

I often add pen to my work to give it that little zing and it has certainly worked here - well done - should prove very popular at the exhibition.

Lovely picture Mia...for all the reasons already mentioned

fabulous, Mia - so fresh and pretty. Very attractive piece and good luck for your exhibition! This should do well!

Good luck with your exhibition - they're bound to like your crisp drawing and delicate colour: and in the highly unlikely event they don't: well I always will!

Many, many thanks to you all, Ruth, Fiona, Michael, Paul, Jane and Robert. You have no idea how much I appreciate all your encouraging comments! I let you know about the exhibition, but first I am off for 10 days, babysitting (see my Blog "Thanks" or "Mia"). As Alan would say: take care, :) Mia

Its a great painting and all the best for the exhibition:)Linda

It is gorgeous, Mia! Such a cheerful, sunny atmosphere! It's wonderful! Have a great exhibition!

A lovely colourful garden and watercolour. Bonne chance!

Wow, I never had so many comments on my work, thank you all so very much. I really appreciate that and the best wishes for the exhibition! Now that I am back home after the babysitting (see my last Blog-posting "Surprise-party" or "Mia"), I can finish the preparations (last framings, making lists...).

Any comments Mia! You got 23 with mine and rightly so, what a superb pen and wash garden study!

This is also an earlier watercolour with added penwork to exhibit in my coming exhibition. The watercolour was ok, but I was not completely satisfied, so I took my Artline marker and added some penwork to it. I think it is better now, do you? Thank you for any comment!
