Wow - what a great drawing Mia and memories too. Congratulations on your Wedding Anniversary.

Happy Anniversary from me too Mia, love the different textures you've got here.

And what a lovely drawing to remember it by - double celebrations - it's also my birthday today and the bubbly's in the fridge so I'll get the chance to toast you later - happy anniversary Mia

This is so different, Mia, from you present day work, and very beautiful it is too, in a different way - lovely lines, especially the waves. Happy anniversary!

Happy anniversary Mia and this is a lovely pen and ink drawing. A really nice way to remember the start of your marriage.

Not easy with Nibs so I appreciate your fine work Mia!

Happy Anniversary Mia. Great drawing. I know you're not going to, but I'd love to see what this looked like with some colour washed over it.

Thank you very, very much Glennis, Debs, Michael, Jane, Val, James and Paul for your lovely comments and good wishes. Happy birthday to you too Michael, we had the bubbly's at lunchtime with our best friends (neighbours for over 40 years) because they couldn't come this evening. James, in those days we only used nibs..., markers...? did they excist? And Paul: that would be a real challenge, because it not not like this anymore: full of yachts and marine factories. I have to remember how it was (it was not from a photo) and because I considered it as a graphic pen drawing, I would have to use the drawing as a base for an improvised pen and wash. Maybe in the coming weeks?

Happy Anniversary Mia ! What a lovely view to look out on . A really sweet little picture .

A lot of work in this Mia, what patience. It's a super piece.

Belated anniversary wishes Mia :) What a stunning view you had, love your wavy water.

Amazing what one can do with just lines ! I love its simplicity.

Looking at the water, it actually moves, or is it my eyes! Lovely drawing Mia.

A nice piece of detailed drawing Mia and what great memories it must recall for you, it is a really eye catching piece

I love it, Mia! There is such good use of line to create form and tone. And congratulations on your wedding anniversary!

Wow, so many lovely compliments and congratulations. Thank you very much Denise, Fiona, Lesley, Avril, Carole, Graham and Seok. Yes, it does recall a lot of happy memories for me and the view was indeed stunning, straight to the west, we sometimes had amazing sunsets. Pitty in those days we only had a black-and-white camera and never thaught of taking pictures!!

What a lovely memory this makes for you, and I'll bet that you prefer this to any photo you may have taken :)

Thanks Sarah, and yes, you are absolutely right, looking at this (again) is much better than a photo!

This is full of beautiful detail Mia you must have spent ages drawing it

Thank you very much, Ros. Yes, it took me a while to make it but in those days (no children yet and no TV) I had all the time when I came home from work.

At the beginning of our marriage (April 16th 1968 -> TODAY), we lived in a lovely small flat near the harbour. This is what I saw, looking out of our living-room window. A nib pen and Indian Ink drawing - no markers in those days. As you can see, this was my "graphic period". Thanks for having a look. Mia
