Good lively work Louise, it's so different around there now isn't it?

A favourite of mine pen and wash Louise. Nice one.

Thanks John and Stephen. This is Whitworth St West Stephen, from Deansgate station with all the bars on the left side (Deansgate locks) as you approach what was the Hacienda and is now apartments. I don't remember it as it was years ago but there are a lot of modern buildings going up now on the right of this scene. As they say, it's 'buzzing' :) One place that has changed for the worse though is Piccadilly gardens. What a mess they made of that! Always something to paint though and I do love the place. I've lived on the outskirts all my life.

Free and expressive Louise!

Lovely as always Louise, beautiful washes.

Bold use of pen and wash! well done!

Your 'quickies' are always brilliant Louise!

Many thanks Satu, Fiona, Cesare, Linda and Carole. I like to paint or sketch most days or else stupidly perhaps my day doesn't feel complete. This sort of sketch takes little time and although not one of my best, I feel better for doing it :)

And I feel better for viewing it. Lovely pen and wash work of an iconic area, ( for those of us who remember the late Tony Wilson) and the buzzing vibes of the late 80s early 90s.

So lively and full of interest - love it.

Was planning to visit there this year but sadly postponed. Intend to sketch a lot when we make it. You provide loads of inspiration for me Louise.

Many thanks Michael, Gudrun and Derek. Hopefully Derek it won't be raining if you visit. Lovely, warm sunshine so far here today..honestly!!

A beautiful addition to your gallery, Louise!
