This is lovely, Louise. So original in style, and a gorgeous combination of colours. You have achieved a beautiful translucency and strength of tone for a watercolour. It must be lovely to be able to create such individuality. I envy your talent.

Louise this is delicious! Juicy washes and vibrant colours.......gorgeous!

This is really a most interesting painting, Louise, and beautifully executed. For me, at least, this is a painting within a picture; a flower portrait residing in a landscape painting. And it is superbly done. An interesting line of thought would be regarding the artist who, apparently, is unaware of herself; she does not appear in this painting of her world! (We rarely, if ever do). Don't eve think about including the artist in this picture, painting this picture. We are getting into the metaphysical - and perhaps this is not the place.

Stunning painting Louise, I love everything about it, one of your best watercolours

Agree with Petra. Stunning is the first word that came to my mind when I saw this Louise. It is such an original and imaginative piece. And I love that rich, dusky palette. It's really beautiful!

I think also that this is one of your best paintings. I love the colours, the composition, well, everything.

Brilliant. Such an unusual composition.... and a delicious palette!

This painting reminds me of the Northern Lights in the sky. I really like the way that the little houses are more prominent and simply done. A very balanced painting, which is not easy to pull of when using such strong colours. Superb dark and moody palette.

I think I like this one at least as much as any of your landscapes ... it's not cluttered, agree with Thea about the "moody palette", and it has wonderful colour and depth. A tour de force!

This is so so accomplished - I am lost for further comment - its all been said.

This is quite magical Louise, you've captured beautiful lighting.

Thank you all for your kind comments which I do appreciate especially as I wasn't too sure about this one. I thought that I might add more detail to the pink area in the foreground in an attempt to tie it into the more carefully painted background hills. I'm still not sure! It's still taped to it's board so I'll turn it to the wall for a few days and look at it again with fresh eyes! Perhaps one day I'll paint something and be completely happy with it :) Thanks again!

I think this is one of my favourites of your paintings Louise. I love the colours in it and the sky echoes that gorgeous pink.

They are all right, Louise, I have no more words to add to all those positive comments. Simply: I like it very much!!!

I agree with all the above Louise, you are very talented, hope your granchild is well and ready for its portrait : )

Thanks Mia and William! Portraits William? You're so funny :)
