Three marvelous posts , Judith. This is my favorite, brilliantly painted.

Terrific painting Judith

Fantastic painting Judith.

Wow Judith, this is wonderful, so much colour and detail, I love it! I have recently started using coloured pencils and I love them and have tried using drafting film once to some success but it's a very different way of working to paper so I must practice more! Any tips for me?

The more I see of work done in coloured pencils, the more I am impressed. This is truly amazing! ... and professional, of course.

Thank you all for your lovely comments! Drafting film is a lovely surface for coloured pencil and produced vibrant and smooth colour, there is a trick to it though.... The film is two sided so if you wish to make your colours pop even more turn the film over and reverse your colours on the back or use a complimentary colour to make it really stand out when you are viewing it from the front. Keep your pencils super sharp, a hard pencil works best and one with a lower wax content or is oil based, apply the pencil in short dabbing strokes rather than bands of shading, if you make a mistake simply lift the colour off with blutack and reapply. Once you have got used to it you will really enjoy this unique surface
