I can't add more to the above comments, other than to say I agree and love the loose brush marks.

Thank you everyone. I think this was the drake... the other pic was the duck, she was smaller, and looked stiller. He's obviously "saying something"... and... the brushstrokes were again watercolour straight out of the tube (it is still wet 24 hours later). It is watercolour. I cannot get the same effect with acrylics, the colours are too bright, and dry too quickly.
