originally this was to be another light watercolour, but something wasn't working, so I wet the paper and used a flat brush dipped in pure watercolour straight from the tube and drew leaves with a broad sweep. Then added the petals, finally dripping lemon yellow into the centres again. Not entirely botanically accurate ( gladioli have six petals), but it was an interesting effect.
