I revisited the Venice series.. some successes and this failure. This is one of 3-4 put aside for destruction. The first one I tidied up, and put more colour on. It's OK, but not worthy of showing. On this one, I think I had washed the painting at some time in the past. I had been drawing lines with a silver pen, and I started by drawing an uneven grid, Then I decided to paint the blocks, using caran d'ache museum aquarelle water colour crayons, Somehow, something has worked.
