Love your technique in his watercolour Jo, gorgeous depth to the water with the colours and reflections, super buildings

I'm not sure how I do it... the only thing that I know I consciously do is, if I put a colour above the water, I add the same below, in a more diluted way, but at the same time. I only ever use a maximum of three colours on any painting ( otherwise I get mud) and I do not use a paint palette, but always mix paint on the paper. All personal choice and technique, but I have no idea where I developed these ideas.

I like the loose watercolour tecnique in this JO !

Lovely loose and immediate work.

A much painted subject... (by me, as well as others) This was painted from a very old tiny photo, taken by me way back when. The detail was hard to see, and I had to use a linen counter ( specialist magnifying glass used by cartographers) to see the gondolier. In later drawings, I looked more closely, and he seemed to have a gondola-load of oranges or onions. In a deserted back-water canal.....
