Quack!
Quick watercolour sketching ... as a change from chickens, I tried ducks. It took several attempts to get plausible beaks and feet, this is one of three reasonably successful ones. As the duck is white, after positioning a splodge of yellow for the beak, I started outlining it, directly in paint, using a flat brush. I find somehow this helps. as I get a broken line, and I can just move the brush until I am happy. Then I manipulate the paint, moving it around until I am reasonably happy with the shape. To blur it, and take attention away from potential inaccuracies, I throw splashes of clear water on it, followed by salt. Perhaps not an accurate duck, but a duck. Takes about 30 minutes in total. Never let the paint dry....
