A super doodle which has become a truly beautiful piece of art!!

A brilliant doodle, Carole! Love the textures and colour used.

I’m so pleased you all like this doodle, thanks so much! I made the background with no idea in mind. Started by first spraying water then dropping in Daniel Smith lunar blue and sodalite. Added a few drops of Indian ink while wet. Dried then thought magpies! Put in some branches.

Wish I could doodle like this!

Lovely!

Immediately eye-catching. Nice work Carole.

……three for a wish and four for a boy, five for silver, six for gold, seven for a secret never to be told. Fabulous “doodle” Carole.

Excellent use of textures and tones, and a wonderfully dramatic result. Excellent work, Carole!

Aw thank you Sarah and Sylvia x

Yes as well as can be expected Carole this is superb

Many thanks Jeannie and Dennis, so pleased you like this.

It is hard to pick on only one of all your delightful paintings. You have great skill in all that you do, in all your chosen mediums. This is typical. A beautiful study in black and white, refreshingly painted. Carole, you recently commented on one of my paintings, The Dancers, expressing your thoughts that I was influenced by Russell Flint. I can confirm that I was, and still remain a follower of his work, even though his style is not currently popular.

Thank you for your kind words Gavin. Yes I really like Sir Russell Flint’s work, I found a book a in Oxfam bookshop about him and featuring some of his great works. My brother in law used to collect his ltd editions.

I know it's not the case, but few days ago I've been walking down the street, and suddenly saw group of magpies fighting. I realised one is on its back defending itself, while beaten up by the one on top, and the rest were making noise around... I did step in, to let the poorer escape... Very nice art Carole. I like composition and colours, detail... Well done.
