Lovely work Brian, so different in style from my work, and very accomplished without doubt. Interesting atmosphere in this piece, a certain mysterious feel to it, well done.

Really beautiful, that pool is just lovely - in fact, everything is really good!

Thank you very much, Alan and Heather, for the generous comments. Much appreciated, as always. It was the mystery that first attracted me to these woods and particularly the ponds, Alan. They are, in fact, the remnants of old clay pits. Years ago, a team of builders and artisans used the local, natural resources to make bricks for the magnificent Hopwood Hall, now a partial ruin. Nature repaired the scars very well, I think. Bri

This is such a delightful little glade where it would be so lovely to while away the hours in quietude. Amazing detail and array of greens which work so harmoniously. Love those slivers of light adding to the beauty of this lovely painting.

Thank you very much, Carole, for a lovely analysis of this piece. Always appreciated. The paths wander through the entire wood, passing ponds and streams as they go. It's a breath of fresh air, both literally and metaphorically. Bri

Oil on canvas 50 x 40 cms. A thoroughly revised and tidied oil painting of one the pleasures of Oaken Bank Woods. A walk through these old woodlands is an absolute pleasure.
