A very successful 'bash' Brian, it's superbly painted, I'm sure your son will be very pleased to say the least.

Thank you very much, Russell, for the highly encouraging comments. Much appreciated. He's on holiday in Rhodes just now so I've posted it on facebook. Bri

I would say that this has worked out very well, Brian. The reflected lines in the sky add very much to the interest.

Wow, best 'bash' ever! That water is first class.

Thank you very much indeed, Marjorie and Heather, for the great comment. Always appreciated. I'm pleased with the end result and so is Jack. He sent me a message and now I'm going to attempt the Budapest parliament building. I could be some time. *smile* Bri

This is terrific Brian. I’m with Marjorie, the vapour trails/clouds in the sky and their reflections in the water, do it for me.

Thank you very much for the "Wow", Romila. It made me smile. Thank you ever so much, Fiona, for the great comments. The sun peeping out from behind the buildings and the vapour trails caught my eye the first time I saw the photo. It's so close to Manchester airport that the flight paths/lanes/things seem to fill the sky sometimes. They really were reflected in the water. Very pleased you liked that aspect. Bri

Superb sense of depth and unity achieved through the repeated sky and water markings Brian. I also admire the glow in the sky behind the buildings and the general feeling of it being twilight. A very grand view of the better part of Salford Brian, which I’m sure your son must be delighted with.

Thank you very much indeed, Carole, for the most amazing comments. Truly appreciated. I approached this one with some trepidation, so it's good to read that it's working, especially with regards to the mood and time of day. I posted a copy on facebook for my son to see and he said he really liked it. Made my day. *smile* Thanks again Bri

Oil on canvas board 61 x 41 cms. Painted from one of my son's photos that he took one morning when leaving his hotel. He asked me if I could paint it and I said "I don't know, but I'll give it a bash". Largely wet in wet but I added the highlights once the paint had dried a touch.
