Fabulous Alan love the colours

Excellent work Alan , I’m always surprised at how deep the trawlers are when you see then out of the water . I do like those lovely colours you have used to show the rust and streaks of paint.

Love this Alan, that petroly look (alright I know there's no such word) of the colours is SO attractive.

A super painting Alan, all those colours in the hull and the inclusion of the guy giving us the scale of the trawler....brilliant.

Great Nice colors Eye appealing Love it

Thanks guys, much appreciated… I’m going to put a blue grey graduated wash on the sky tomorrow, it’s all a bit disjointed somehow!

Corrr……wonderful rich mix of colour and media Alan. What a great find from your sketchbooks, you could do so much with this. Love it!

Really good Alan, the colours are excellent 👌

Beautiful combination of colours, and a nice composition.

There is a lot below the Plimsoll line- a bit like icebergs! I have spent a long time looking at these trawlers, when I used to have a boat moored at Brixham. Excellent rendition.

Yeah, great. Love the way the drab colours give highlight to the boats against the sky. Great wintery feel

Another goodie! On the roll again Alan. Beautiful 😍

Great texture.

I like the solidity of these old trawlers Alan, fascinating and a strong drawing.

I like this approach to painting, trying out new techniques and surfaces can be quite rewarding. I love the strength and boldness of this work Alan.

Great image Alan. The mixed mediums work well. I like the blank sky. It adds to the starkness of the piece

Do like the rich colours Alan.

Very satisfying viewing Alan, I love it as it is but the graduated wash to the sky will look good.

Your painting also has "lots of rugged charm" Alan. I especially love the rich dark colours. Hopefully you will post more.

I love the rust effect, you have captured the scenery beautifully.

Wish you could come and put a graduated blue wash on the sky here - solid overcast depressing grey!

I love these old trawlers, lots of rugged charm and so full of character - drawn from my own reference material and I’ve got several different views of it, so I’ll paint a few more at some stage! This well used vessel is in dry dock and undergoing routine maintenance, and a much needed paint job! What becomes apparent when on dry land, is how deep the hull is, a huge hold for the catch of course! Top heavy almost… Hahnemuhle A4 Agave Eco watercolour paper 280gsm NOT Perhaps needs a bit of sky adding!
