Lleyn Peninsular – A4 Polydraw Matt Drafting Film.
I’ve been reading quite a lot recently regarding using this film material for drawing and painting on. If you have the current edition of Leisure Painter, you will have seen my report on the letters page, along with this painting. This is a semi-abstract mixed media, and I’ve used acrylic, ink, pencil, gouache and pastel. It’s a slightly unusual surface to work on, quite thick so it lies flat, and takes pencil and charcoal particularly well. It’s semi-transparent, so you could put a photo or say a rough sketch underneath, and use this as a guide. I bought an A4 pad, but it is available in large sheets also. Well worth a go if you like to experiment as I do!
