Goodness, I wouldn't have noticed anything wrong from your pre-tweaked version Anth. Gorgeous colour of dress.
Thanks Adele, it's the underarm and shoulder area that I've worked on as they're too light and stand out. The red I'm using's an absolute bugger to work with, I'm constantly covered in it! Gudrun, I see where you're coming from - I nearly did that with a portrait of my daughter once. This client wants the finished article though, so I'm saving the easy background section for the finish line :)
It looks marvellous Anth. What size is it?
What is the name of the red Anth and why is it a "bugger" to work with?
Margaret, it's 500x1000mm so relatively large. Adele, the red is Winton Cad Red Deep - I'm used to using Pebeo quick-dry oils with Liquin so it dries in a crack but I've had to use this red straight from the tube to get the coverage I wanted. It's taking an ice age to dry, and it seems to get everywhere!
Breathe out. Nearly there then!!
Hi Pat, no, it'll be a similar short depth-of-field look on the right hand side, as it is on the left. The background gives the figure even more definition, love the way this works.
Got a leg and a hand done this weekend! And for the first time, the hand looks neither gorilla-y or bunch-of-bananas-like. Always a plus! Anth
Jenny is looking wonderful Anth and her hand looks great!
Thanks Margaret!
The hand is looking good Anth - not a gorilla or a bunch of bananas in sight!😀
Thats a gorgeous portrait. Nice attention to detail and the dress fabric is stunning! Looking forward to seeing the final result :)
