There is a difference between the eyes - but then I have an asymmetrical face, noticeable around the jaw line; you can't paint a recognizable portrait generally by replicating one side of the face to represent the other, not that I suppose anyone would try to. Eyes need to be more or less symmetrical, but there are variations; even between nostrils and ears. Well spotted by Syd, though - because if it had been a mistake, it would have begotten other mistakes, and the likeness would begin to slip away.
One reason why I've done so few portraits - and if I do, I like to paint old Victorian types with multifarious whiskers - the women of course present greater problems, but a nice full moustache and beard is wonderful for a portrait painter.

She's looking great! The fabric and the folds in it are especially effective. I also love your technique of having the background in less sharp focus. I work in a sort of similar way in terms of area by area and straight on to a primed canvas - and it's also be called 'painting by numbers' by less generous folk (not on here i should add), but if it works for you, which it clearly does, then that's the main thing. Is the finished piece on the gallery? I had a little look just now but couldn't see it.
