How to paint fireworks over a lake with Michelle the Painter

Michelle shows how to paint fireworks and reflections using:

  • Canvas: 16x20 stretched primed canvas
  • Brushes: 1 inch flat bristle, bristle fan brush, #6 round
  • Acrylic Paint: titanium white, deep yellow, cobalt blue, fluorescent pink, fluorescent violet, fluorescent green, fire red, mars black
  • Other: palette, cup of water for washing brushes, paper towel for drying brushes

STEP: 1. Using a 1" bristle brush - Paint entire canvas with black

STEP 2. With the #6 round brush - Paint horizon and cityscape with red, yellow and white

STEP 3. With the 1" bristle brush - Paint glow under fireworks with yellow, blue, purple, green, red

STEP 4. With the fan brush - Paint highlights on fireworks with white, yellow, blue, purple, green, red
