Like the way you've painted this scene. Love Dedham in summer by the river and strolling up to Flatford. Happy memories

Lovely English scene Alan.

A fabulous watercolour Alan...clean, confident and wonderfully loose.

Many thanks for your postings. Much appreciated. A lot of sword liner in this which is forgiving to my shaky hand.

You have managed some great effects with the sword liner Alan, it will turn out to be one of your favourite brushes when you train it! Lol I purchased, at great expense.....well it was when I got it.....a Roger Jones brush from Rosemary & co about twelve years ago. It cost something like £40 which was a total extravagance but it was the best thing I did for my watercolours. It’s a size 12 with a long fine point and it’s the only brush I use for the whole painting. I can load it with a wash which I apply side ways and because of the fine point I do all the necessary detail. It’s a great brush but I hope I never need to replace it, I’ve just looked it up and it’s doubled in price!
