A few years ago a tiny kitten turned up cold wet and hungry on my grand daughters back doorsteps on a freezing winter morning . Christened Jinx by the little girl who had been dreaming of owning a pet , he managed to melt the heart of my daughter who was not a fan of cats and became the much loved ruler of the household.
