Graphite sketch drawn by first placing the shapes of the darkest darks and avoiding any outlines until the final stage . It worked quite well in achieving a reasonable likeness.

I'm an 83 year old retired surgeon . Art has been my lifelong obsession away from work and now my main focus in life together with woodwork. I enjoy creating and making in any medium but have always gravitated to drawing and watercolour. I've also had limited training in etching and sculpture.
