This is very good Christine. I used to do this too also single thread in silk embroidery, like you the eyes let me down a bit now.

I love this Christine, beautiful detail, can't imagine the patience it must have taken!

It is beautiful Christine. It would grace any stately home! ( I mean that in a good way! )

Oh I love it Christine! I throws me straight back into my childhood with the Singer machine. My grandmother used hers and I was fascinated by the moving pedal. Those were the days!

This is lovely Christine and very interesting. Hope you've got it framed.

Really something special Christine!

Thank you Carole, Jenny, Janet, Satu, Frank and Louise for your kind comments. I was having a bit of a clear out today and found this amongst a box of old paintings etc. it was originally framed but got damaged when the cellar of the house we lived in was flooded. The embroidery itself is a bit damaged at the edges but nothing a mount wouldn't hide so Frank I think I will get it reframed and hang it again. Satu, I learned to sew on my mother's Singer treadle sewing machine, so different from the one I have now with all it's computerised features!

Wow...amazing...so much detail...

Wow Christine, is there something you don't excel in?! This is absolutely delightful. What a stunning design, full of charm and so very evocative.

This is a cross stitch embroidery from the days when I had much better eye sight and a lot more patience! ( 12" x 10")
