A lovely illustration Christine, beautiful colours.

So beautiful and bright, it's lovely Christine.

Gorgeous Christine we will have to see

Thank you Glennis, Alan, Maria and Dennis for your comments. This painting is for a joint project on 'Exotic Birds' that the members of my art group are involved in.

A beautiful bird, so well drawn and very decorative Christine. But what is going to happen to that cute bee? I love the way you have painted it casually flying away from the danger.

The beady eye is on him hope he gets away as I love your bees Christine. Great looking bird too.

So vibrant Christine, it's lovely.

Lol! I love your bees, Christine, and there's no reason why the bee-eater and the bee can't co-exist, at least in our artistic universe. You've done such a superb job with your use of shapes and space. You do need to take out that Gelli plate again! In answer to your question, I understand from Linda Germain that apparently the Gelli plate does not provide such detailed impressions as the gelatin plate. I haven't tried the Gelli plate since I started on her course, so I haven't been able to actually see the difference. However, the basic steps and principles can be used for both types of plate. I think we just need to make the necessary adaptations for the results we need. If you're so inclined, I'd recommend her course next time it comes around. I found it very useful. It's rudimentary, but so was my knowledge of monoprinting, so it was great for me to learn the basics.

Oh no this can't 'bee' the end.....lovely organic painting Christine, love the swirls and colours.

Thank you Satu, Carole, Val, Seok and Fiona for your comments, I expect bees will still feature in my paintings and collages, in fact I have an idea buzzing around in my head at the moment! Seok, thanks for the info, I will definitely look out for the Linda Germain course, it sounds very interesting.
