Splatter flowering cherry tree

I think my 2 year old granddaughter could do better but I wanted to join in the splattering!

Well it's cheered me up Christine. This is a reminder of spring time, it's so unlike spring here at the moment. Cold winds, rain and even snow on the hills. So this is warm and cheerful......lovely.

You know Christine, there are some super paint effects here via that straw. I do like the upright blades of grass in the foreground. Marks like those would be difficult to do with the paint brush. They have what I call a 'whooshing and pushing', a feeling of growth and life if you know what I mean. Also, the tree branches are good. Well worth trying out the technique in my opinion and I'm sure you'll do a few more. We all use our bins often, that's what they're for. Nothing to be disheartened about, a good experiment which has worked very well. Also, I shall buy some straws now!

Thank you Fiona, Dennis, Glennis and Louise for your kind comments. This tree is right outside my apartment and I'd had so many tries at painting it that it began to feel like it was taunting me! Louise thank you for seeing the positives, it just looked complete rubbish to me! I expect, when I'm back from holiday, I probably will have another go, like you I can't leave it alone! Perhaps though by then you will all have moved on to something else and I'll want to join in that!

I like it a lot. Something has just struck me. Do another like that, but without the bird and see how it works.

I'd prefer it without the bird or nest. Three trees in a row would be good. (just an idea). Quite exciting really to see where it goes next!

I agree, the bird does make it a look a bit twee, not an improvement at all! I don't know if I can face doing anymore trees, I'm rather hoping someone will have chopped it down when I come back!

Lovely tree Christine, well splattered and blown! I love the nest but the bird too well drawn to match it. What about making a blob and then blow the wings and the tail? Can you resist?

Love this cheerful splat tree Christine, appropriate for this season with the nest.

Great free and expressive tree - isn't spattering liberating - I just love it!

Thank you Satu, Carole and Thea for your comments. I really thought it was rubbish but you've all helped me see the positives! Satu, I cheated, the bird and nest are rubber stamped,I thought it might help detract from the tree!
