Spatter Meadow - Inspired by Thea

Spatter Meadow - Inspired by Thea

Thought I'd have a go at spattering inspired by Thea. Most of the spatters are random but I did use a rigger to depict the grasses and placed a spot on the flowers for the centres. Couldn't resist adding the butterfly stamp.

It's that good I thought it was Thea

Drawn to this one straight away that I opened the gallery!! Love it - it is so free and joyful with beautiful colours. The addition of the little butterflies is perfect. I think it is nice to have the majority of a work done in loose spattering and then introduce a sharper image. I did that with the eyes and nose on my bunny and it stops the whole painting just being too airy fairy. I am going to get going with a few more of these as I think the style lends itself to a lot of different subjects. Well done, Christine, for taking up the baton and also for producing such a beautiful painting!

Thank you Dennis and Thea, I did enjoy doing this and using my watercolours again! I'll probably have a go at another of these to Thea, they may prove to be as liberating as the one-liners!

I'm thinking sour face spatter now?..lol

Shows well what can be done with such a simple method! Well done Christine!

Nice work Christine, the spatters work really well as flowers!

I think that Thea's hare lives in this meadow Christine :) light and bright!

Thank you Louise, Glennis, Satu, Deborah Dennis and Sarah. Louise, I'm looking forward to that spatter sour face and Sarah your comment made me smile I think Spatterland is a happy place to live!
