Of course, just before I saw your comment, Louise, it pinged into my head that this has to be Hockney. Hope I am right! Love the hat and the glasses, which is what gave it away to me.

I thought Hockney too. Was there not a programme about him? I heard a conversation on the radio, but I think it would be interesting to see the programme.

David Hockney it is! I can see how you mistook him for Ena Sharples though Stephen, that cap looks remarkably like a hair net! There was a TV programme about him a couple of years ago Gudrun, when he had his exhibition at the RA

Yup, it's Hockney. Although someone really should do an Ena Sharples, single line, downside up, or just "straight" - actually, did someone not do that a while ago, or is my memory affected by the drink and wild living...?
