A little cutie this is Christine! Foam sheet? Never heard of it and how did you use it for printing? Interesting result!

Thank you Satu, it's a technique I remember reading about sometime ago and it is so easy. I got the thin foam sheets from The Works. You draw and cut out the shape, in this case the bird, and then draw the details on it using a pointed implement, I used a small knitting needle. Roller the printing ink onto it and print. Much easier than linocuts!

How strange, I was watching a TV design show last night and she used exactly the same technique, and she said it was much easier than linocuts. I'd never heard of it before, then up popped your charming little dicky bird - she'd used a feather pattern on furnishings, great minds eh Christine!

I've tried linocuts but I've not heard of this method. I like the result you achieved Christine.

Interesting technique and he's rather nice in that he's looking up at something! The angle of his head works well. Your hen is good as well and I think you're like me in that a day isn't complete unless I paint or create!!

Thank you Debs, Val and Louise. You're so right Louise, I must say I do wish sometimes that I could just sit and do nothing! At the moment I'm crocheting a baby blanket, piecing a patchwork wall hanging, messing around with the foam sheets and preparing for an art day on Monday with the group I belong to. I wouldn't change it though!

I love the textures in this little bird Christine, lovely work.

Wow! An interesting new process! And you've produced a fascinating piece, Christine - the textures and the marks are fabulous!

I agree with all that has been said. Sometimes it's simple things that cerate the most impact. I suppose the theory is much like the wood block printing. It's good to be busy. Like louise I need to have dome something, however small, perhaps a secret one liner, every day if I am not to feel I have missed something. I'm am planning to co-ordinate a big job of works next so let's see if it works out!

Thank you Carole, Seok and Gudrun, it's good to try something different and the effect of this cheap, easy printing method is quite surprising.
