Gloriously wet Willie

I think this road leads up to the school but there are so many steep, winding roads in Holmfirth ( we lived there for 15 years ). I have so many lovely memories from then so I honed in immediately. One memory was definitely the rain, being in the Pennines. It’s a lovely watercolour Willie, the wet road and the sunshine hitting the houses further up.

Lovely wet reflections!

Thanks for the comments Heather, Sarah and Stephen. It may mean something to you Marjorie but the road leads up to Goose Green. We were staying in Wooldale to where we returned up the hills and soaking!.

This place brings back many happy memories for me. I used to go hiking around this area when I lived in Manchester. You have certainly captured the character of the place, perfectly, Willie.

Soaked! Excellent watercolour Willie.

I love the rainy atmosphere with the sun just coming out and catching the stonework - really super painting, Willie!

This painting is profound and captures a rainy day , those reflections upon the cobbled lane and the stone buildings look amazing Willie! It's profound and must strike some happy memories too!

Lovely wet atmosphere captured.

Thank you Carol, Fiona, Ann & Anne for your nice words and to Angela and Spencer too. All cheering and appreciated.

Lovely and wet Willie, just like today!

Watercolour (what else!) walking around the town with a sketch pad in the rain. Gave up and took photos instead.
