There is something rather haunting about this but possibly it’s all the stories that went on there a long time ago, giving this place its characteristics. Good work Willie.

Haven’t heard of this place Willie, where about is it please, looks like a painters paradise. Love the way you have painted the trees!

Fiona, hello, Its on The Rhins o'Galloway halfway across the peninsula from Sandhead at GR NX0800 4835 or Google shows it at 54deg47N & 4deg59 W. Walk through some iron gates up a tree lined grassy lane for 200m and voila! Magic.

Found it Willie. I’ve driven past the turn off for it many times on the way down to Drumore and the mull of Galloway. Didn’t know of it’s existence, thank you.

Lovely place, magical Willie.

Thanks for your comments Dennis, Carole, Fiona and Carole.

A lonely but exquisite place. One of the earliest Christian sites in Britain with commemorative stones dating back to the fifth century. The dominant cross is 'modern' (1810). If you are in Galloway I recommend it. -oil on board.
