I remember them well, Jim. The great charm of radio was that we were all sitting there visualizing the heroes and villains. I had a go at these a while back, my ideas were different...and that's as it should be. I also remember seeing a couple of movies made about them. They didn't work for me, because my personal concept of how they looked was too firmly entrenched...so it was just another film.

The old ones were the best Jim. You've never forgotten and now look, such a good sketch!

The theme tune is running through my head right now...

Thanks Lewis, Louise, Sylvia and Mike for remembering good old times. Yes, those were the times Mike, and later ones (including T.V) fololowed, but 1946-1951 on the B.B.C Liht Programme is the one remembered best. Those, and Paul Temple. Sylvia, The Devil's Gallop" was the name of the music, and Paul Temple's theme was called "Coronation Scot" . I can still hear them both like it was yesterday..(-:

Dick Barton, Special Agent...boyhood hero of radio (no one back then knew what he looked like). Borrow your dad's trilby hat (not his best one of course) and you were the man. Imagination has always been wonderful and it's all fresh in memory even though it was long ago. (-:
