Charcoal...great medium, but what a mess you get in. I need to work in large scale to have any chance. Love it because you can create pics, fairly quickly. Are you using gouache for the 'lost' white areas (I was always losing the whites)? I shall watch your progress in this medium with interest, Jim.

Thanks Lew. Total novice (just finished my second pic) so can't offer any useful advice. I used an eraser in a couple of small areas, mainly left the white areas alone and touched a couple of edges with a white gel pen. I bought a pack of three charcoal sticks from The Works (soft, medium and hard) so it's all very experimental right now. Learn as you go I suppose..(-:
