A fascinating subject, Jim, and likely to remain so. Logic suggests it would have been a simple wooden or pottery cup, but who knows.

Thanks Sylvia. I agree Lewis it wouldn't have been a silver or gold chalice, that's completely improbable in the environment Christ and his disciples lived in (carpenter and fishermen?) I made it metal, pewter for a romantic idea, maybe for the shape,but in reality I agree with you. It would be a household item.
