Short and hairy he may be, but he looks great to me! Super pencilly scribbly marks, especially love his boots with the suggestion of the spurs! And he is definitely human looking!

I seen both the watercolour version and this...both good, but I prefer this drawing. Super work. The thing that appeals most is the sense of weight on his feet, these sort of poses can be tricky, but you have it just perfectly. I think you said you preferred it, too.

Really like how Porthos is developing, look forward to the final.

I decided to go for some sort of a painting of the sketch I did of a musketeer. I tried not to fall into the trap of stereotyping when drawing etc, ie, that all men are olympic athletes and made this guy a little more human. They must have had standards back then etc, not like now when we have short fat hairy policemen and soldiers (better mention short, fat hairy women to avoid being accused of discrimination. (-: Anyway, this is the pencil sketch I'll work from. A4 size.
