I loved the Palais and was a member of the Mecca rock and roll team there back in 1956-8. It gets worse, last year I was in a BBC TV programme about Bolton Palais that aired in January a year ago. It was on in two one-hour long episodes on BBC 2 and they did up and re-opened Bolton Palais for one night to film it. As part of it, as well as the Palais night, we old fogies danced on Blackpool pier and at half time in the Bolton v Shefield evening game in front of fifteen thousand people. There, I've said it...Now you know why I loved those days....(-:
